Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Vaasa, Finland, Nordic Chartering is a privately owned short-sea shipping operator specialized in shipping solutions. For more than 20 years, we have operated regular timber sailings from the Baltic Sea to Western Europe.

Our parcel service concept makes it possible for sawmills to ship smaller volumes by sharing vessel space – eliminating the need to book a full shipload.

Together with our strategic partners, we also manage part–cargo bookings from the Baltic Sea towards the Mediterranean.

Parcel Service Concept

For more than 20 years Nordic Chartering has been carrying forest products from the Baltic Sea to France, Spain, UK and Ireland.

Most of our regular timber sailings are operated basis a parcel service concept. With this concept we aim to combine multiple shippers to efficiently share the vessel’s space.

Main commodities shipped are supplied by the sawmill industry.

Towards the Mediterranean

In collaboration with our strategic partners, we extend our logistical solutions further. We collect regular part–cargo bookings for shipments from the Baltic Sea towards the Mediterranean.

We share upcoming sailing schedules, allowing you to plan ahead and book your parcel from selected ports.

Additional ports can be arranged en route for bigger volumes.

Our people in charge have 20-30 years of experience in the shipping industry and are committed to ensure high quality, reliable services for our customers and partners.

Our fleet consist of modern, timber fitted, ice-classed vessels, which ensures operations all year round even in severe ice conditions in the upper Baltic Sea.

Our operations are carried out with both own and time-chartered vessels.
