Kuhmo Oy is a dynamic, internationally operating private sawmill. Our commitment is in providing high quality products to match customer’s needs by respecting nature. In Kuhmo Oy we produce almost all timber products from standard sizes to tailor-made products in compliance with customer requirements. Apart from the important domestic market we are also well represented in Western Europe, North Africa and Far East.

Sawmill

Kuhmo Oy is a dynamic, internationally operating private sawmill. We produce 500 000 m3 of sawn timber annually. Of that volume 80 % is redwood and 20 % whitewood. We want to offer our customers the best products for their end uses, thus we have various tailor-made products for our industrial customers. Both PEFC and FSC certificates are available. Our shipping mark URSUS is well-known globally – did you know that it comes from Latin and means bear?

Production / products

We operate two sawlines, cutting different log sizes. The small log line produces most of our packaging and construction products. The main log line cuts the larger and better-quality logs for the joinery and furniture industry. Largest dimensions are produced for the construction and housing industry. Our production is flexible, especially when it comes to small dimensions.
